In the hope it might be helpful to someone else, here is how I updated my Pro Tools system on Mac OS X Mountain Lion from Pro Tools 10 to Pro Tools 10.3.6 and Pro Tools 11. My Mac Pro is a 2008 8-core (dual 2.8GHz quad-core) ID 3,1 w/16GB RAM and a plethora of disk volumes, and my interface is a Digi/Avid 002 console. I get no sound out of the digi 002 rack while trying to listen to iTunes, even after trying the Digi core audio manager 7.0 and pro tools will not launch. I have tried everything at this point and it is not working!!! I DO NOT want to upgrade to Leopard at this time.
1 year ago, i made a BIG mistake, i bought a Pro Tools M-Powered with a Soundcard Fast track Pro M-audio.So, now, as i want a better soundcard with a good quality sound and more possibilities, i want to get Pro Tools LE because Digidisign soundcards are better than M-audio.
So, i wanted to buy a Digi 003 with Pro tools LE free in it =1000Euros, but it's really expensive.
The other choice is to buy a secondhand Digi002, and buy Pro Tools LE: i found the Digi002 for 450Euros, with pro tools LE it will be 600 Euros.
But some people in the music shops told me that the Digi003 was really better in relation to the quality sound.
Do you think they just want me to spend 1000Euros? Should i buy Digi002 and save 400 Euros? Is the Digi003 really better???
